The Lake Windward Yacht Club will be holding its 2nd Annual Fishing Derby on April 25th from 6am till 1:00 PM. Start whenever you want, but you must stop fishing at 1:00. This is open to all Windward residents that register for the event.

Location: You can fish from boats or the public docks around the lake. You must register in order to participate. The registration form and rules will be available online at:

Registration & Check in: Will start at 6am and will be located at the Lake Windward boat launch. All contestants must check in and pick up the rules for the competition to be eligible for trophies.

Official Weigh-in of Catch: All contestants must be back to the boat launch no later than 1:00 PM for official weigh in of fish.

Trophies: Trophies will be given out for each of these three age brackets: Under 10 yrs old, 10-17 yrs old, 18+ years old.

Fishing Instruction: Fishing instruction will be provided from 7:00 AM until 9:00 AM for anyone wanting to improve their ability to use a rod & reel and get better at casting. We’ll also answer your questions about catching fish on Lake Windward. You’ll be ready to join the derby and fish until 1:00.

Lunch: A Hot Dog Lunch will be available at the Boat Launch for the participants as they return with their catch.

Entry Fees:
· Free for all LWYC members
· All other Windward residents: registration $5 per person or $15 per family.
· If you join LWYC at registration, the entry fee will be applied towards the club membership ($75.00).

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP OR RENEWAL

The Lake Windward Yacht Club provides a venue for lake related activities. The purpose of the club is to promote the use of the Lake through fun water activities and provide a venue for socializing with your neighbors. There are many events throughout the year, ashore and afloat, with emphasis on safety and fun. Expand your horizons and learn from others while on the water.

The club is open to all residents of the Lake Windward community, whether you own a boat or not. To become a member, there is a $25.00 initiation fee plus $50.00 annual membership fee to be remitted with this form. The fee entitles one household full membership (household is defined as all living under one roof). You will receive one club burgee (flag) with payment of your Initiation Fee. Please note: replacement burgees are $21.40 (includes tax). Please take good care of them.
